Poland: very low prices of apples

At the moment there is hardly any export of Polish apples to the east. As a result prices of apples are even low than last year when there were record crops of apples.

On Monday, October 12, apples of such varieties as Cortland, Lobo, Shampion size 70 + were purchased (producer price) from 0.35 PLN (0.082 euro)/kg. This year the quality of apples is much better than in 2008. In consequence there are more dessert apples than industrial ones but of course at the moment the majority of dessert apples are being put into the stores and CA stores.
