Prices of imported leeks

On the wholesale markets the price of imported leeks is even 6 PLN (1.55 €)/kg. This is the result of high prices of these vegetables in France and Belgium – the main import destinations. The price in production regions (Normandy, Brittany, Flanders) is 1.00 - 1.10 euro/kg.

On the Polish market there are also available leeks imported from Turkey. Although they differ from Polish, French or Belgian in appearance and quality (they are smaller, thinner), they are competitive due to lower price. Their purchase price (including transport) is currently at the level 3 PLN (0.77 €)/kg.
