Prices of pears

This year high crops of pears are expected. According to data of GUS crops will amount to 83 thousand ton (66 thousand ton in 2007). In comparison with average crops of years 2001-2005 this year's crops of pears will be higher by 4 thousand ton.

On the wholesale market in Poznań wholesale price of pears of ‘Faworytka” variety (1st class, in boxes of 10 kg) is 0.75 EUR/kg. Last year price was 0.9 – 1.21 EUR/kg. On the wholesale market pears imported from Argentina are also available (1st class, in cardboard boxes of 18 kg) at price 1.21 EUR/kg.
