The end of greenhouse tomatoes season

This year's season of domestic greenhouse tomatoes will last about one week. On Monday, 3rd November prices of tomatoes didn't change compared with prices of last week.

The average price of tomatoes of A size was 0.74 euro/kg; of B size 0.79 euro/kg; of BB size 0.96 euro/kg. This year's prices at the end of the season were minimally lower than last year as a result of large amounts of tomatoes on the market at the end of October. The production of greenhouse tomatoes in Poland has been increasing constantly since the end of the nineties and what's more in parallel with increasing number of imported tomatoes. Also an export of Polish tomatoes grows. According to IERiGŻ 19% of greenhouse tomatoes produced in Poland will be exported in 2008.
