Tomatoes: growing demand, increase in prices

Oncoming Polish “long weekend” and growing demand caused an increase in selling prices of Polish tomatoes.

Presently in Podkarpacie province net price of tomatoes (1st class, size 47-57 mm, in plastic 6 kg boxes) have increased from 5.00 – 5.30 PLN/kg (last week) to 5.50 – 6.00 PLN/kg. In comparison with the previous season the purchase prices of tomatoes (1st class, size 47-57 mm) have increased by 20%.
