Unprofitable raspberries

Production cost calculation conducted by Horticultural Economics Department of IAFE-NRI (ZEO-IERiGŻ-PIB) shows that domestic production of raspberries was unprofitable in years 2004 – 2006.

Situation changed in 2007 and production was profitable. Index of production profitability (producer price / total cost of production x 100%) ranged from 62% (2004) to 72% (2006).

The highest index 126 % - showing that prices obtained were higher than total production cost by 26 % - was reached in 2007.
