Weekly summary – fresh-market.pl price analyse

Increase of prices for all fruit and vegetables was expected last week whereas e.g. prices of tomatoes were deeply decreasing. On the markets imported tomatoes at low price ( 3.23 EUR/box, size B) are available.

It caused price decrease of domestic product. Additionally on the Eastern markets tomatoes of domestic production and tomatoes from Turkey are available and it resulted in trade stagnation in Poland.

Prices of cucumbers were fluctuating last week. Before holiday May 22nd prices deeply decreased and on Friday 23rd increased a lot. This week price stabilization is expected.

Wheatear conditions are favourable for trade of early cabbages and potatoes. Price of early cabbages increased last week. Volume of product is sufficient but traders interest in cabbages is still growing.

Deliveries of early Chinese cabbages growing under protection are finishing. Next bigger volumes of Chinese cabbages are expected at the beginning of June.

Prices of root vegetables are rising but increase is presently slower as import of such products is bigger and early vegetables are starting. Early carrots either domestic or imported are available. Prices of carrots are fluctuating and depend on interest of buyers.

On the market there are domestic strawberries growing under protection. Prices depend on place and time of purchasing. At the local market near Czerwińsk price of strawberries was 1.76 EUR/chip basket but there were no buyers. Producers who delivered strawberries to towns sold them at quite bigger prices.
