Weekly summary – fresh-market.pl price analyse (8-14.09.2008)
Last week the agreement on purchase prices of apples for processing was reached. A guaranteed price is 0.28 zloty/kg (about 0.083 EUR/kg) for apples delivered to the plant, but only four processing plants signed the agreement and only to 29 September.
Next varieties of apples appeared on the market e.g. Lobo and Cortland. Prices apples is 0.22 0.25 EUR/kg for apples packed into cardboard boxes.
Last week prices of pears of varieties Lucas, Conference, Paten packed into cardboard boxes were 0.59 - 0.65 EUR/kg.
Price of dessert plums was stable. The highest price was 0.36 EUR/kg for plums of 40+ size, packed into cardboard boxes. Price of plums for processing was increasing. At the beginning of the week price was 0.12 – 0.15 EUR/kg and in the end of the week price was even 0.30 EUR/kg.
Prices of raspberries for processing were a little bit lower and were 0.89 – 1.04 EUR/kg for fruit delivered to the plant.
Last week on the market of vegetables average prices of potatoes, white and red headed cabbages, Savoy cabbages, Chinese cabbages and cauliflowers were stable. Downward trends in prices of onions, carrots and beetroots were stopped. In the end of the week the average price of onions was 0.16 EUR/kg (by 0.015 EUR/kg more), price of carrots was 0.19 EUR/kg (by 0.024 EUR/kg more), price of beetroots was 0.16 EUR/kg (by 0.009 EUR/kg more). Increase in prices wasn’t big and it’s difficult to say whether upward trend will be lasting.
Prices of leeks and celeries decreased. In the end of the week their average prices were adequately 0.54 EUR/kg and 0.39 EUR/kg.
Last week upward trend in prices of sweet peppers stayed, especially in the central part of Poland one can see increasing prices. In the end of the week price of red and yellow sweet peppers was 1.04 EUR/kg, price of green sweet peppers was 0.68 EUR/kg and price of white sweet peppers was 0.80 EUR/kg. All prices were for peppers packed in 5 kg cardboard boxes.
Prices of tomatoes generally were decreasing. In the end of the last week average price of tomatoes of B size was 0.60 EUR/kg, and price of tomatoes of BB size was 0.65 EUR/kg (price contains cost of packaging).
More and more vegetables are delivered to the processing plants. Price of cauliflowers for processing is 0.24 – 0.33 EUR/kg, price of broccoli is 0.36 – 0.46 EUR/kg, price of carrots is 0.09 EUR/kg (for cubes) and 0.11 EUR/kg (for slices), price of washed potatoes for chips is 0.10 EUR/kg.
