Weekly summary – fresh-market.pl price analysis (13.09. – 17.09.2010) – vegetables

Passing summer was exceptionally unfavourable for vegetables. However last week the weather improved and sunny days influenced supply and prices of vegetables. Price of celeriac, for example, decreased even to 1.50-1.60 PLN/kg and parsley to 2.00 PLN/kg. Price of carrot remained stable at the level 0.70-0.80 PLN/kg.

Weather improvement caused that increase in price of tomatoes was much slower. On Monday, September 13 prices of B tomatoes was 28 PLN/6 kg and BB tomatoes – 30 PLN/6 kg. Prices of cucumbers was 2.50 -3.00 PLN/kg.

Prices of white cabbage and Chinese cabbage remained stable – 0.60-0.70 PLN/kg and 1.70-1.90 PLN respectively.
Prices of onion was also stable – 0.80-1.00 PLN/kg

The supply of aubergines, courgettes and sweet pepper is low. The most often prices of aubergines and courgettes were 4.25 PLN/kg and 2.25 PLN/kg respectively. Price of red pepper was 4.00-4.50 PLN/kg and price of green one was 2.00-2.60 PLN/kg.

At the end of the week the supply of cauliflowers and broccoli was bigger than last weeks. Their quality also improved.
Price of cauliflowers decreased by over 30 % to 1.20-1.50 PLN/pcs. and price of broccoli by around 25 % to 1.20 PLN/pcs.
