Last week prices of apples was stable. Trading companies were purchasing apples of all varieties but Idared was in the biggest demand. In the production area near Grójec and Warka, and also Lublin, prices of Idared size 70 + from CA ranged from 0.70 to 0.90 PLN (0.17-0.21 €)/kg. In the production area near Sandomierz the purchase prices of Idared were as follows (size 70+): 0.40 PLN (0.10 €)/kg for apples from ordinary storage, 0.50 – 0.60 PLN (0.12-0.14 €)/kg for apples from cold storage and from 0.70 to 0.80 PLN (0.17-0.19 €)/kg for apples from CA.
Prices of apples of red varieties (Jonagored, Gloster, Shampion, Elise and Alwa) remained stable. In the production area near Grójec and Warka, and also Lublin, the prices of red apples from CA were following: 0.60 - 0.80 PLN (0.14-0.19 €)/kg for apples 70 +, 0.70 - 0.90 PLN (0.17-0.21 €)/kg for apples 75 + and 0.80 to 1.10 PLN (0.19-0.26 €)/kg for apples 80 +. In the production area near Sandomierz prices of red apples were from 0.70 to 0.80 PLN(0.17-0.19 €)/kg for apples 70 +. The purchase of red apples from cold storage in this area has already finished.
In the area of Grójec and Warka and also Lublin the purchase price of Golden Delicious, which was in quite big demand, were from 1.20 to 1.40 PLN (0.29-0.33 €)/kg for apples 70 + from CA. In the area of Sandomierz the producer price of Golden Delicious was from 1.00 to 1.20 PLN (0.24-0.29 €)/kg for apples 70 +.
In the production area near Grójec and Warka the price of Mutsu from CA was also high - 1.40 PLN (0.33 €)/kg for apples size 70 +. Apples of Gala variety were also in high demand and last week their price was from 1.00 to 1.10 PLN (0.24-0.26 €)/kg for apples size 65 + and from 1.20 to 1.40 PLN(0.29-0.33 €)/kg for apples size 70 +. The prices of industrial apples has not changed for a long time. Their price in purchasing centers was from 0.13 to 0.15 PLN (0.03-0.035 €)/kg depending on the region. The price of apples just delivered to processing plants was from 0.18 to 0.22 PLN (0.04-0.05 €)/kg.
Prices of imported fruit were fairly stable. The price of table grapes Red Globe imported from Chile has been sold at stable price from 60 (14.35 €) to 63 PLN (15.07 €) per 8.2 kg for a long time. Price of Spanish lemons was 4.00 PLN (0.96 €)/kg. Lemons imported from RSA were a little bit cheaper (3.50 - 3.60 PLN (0.84-0.86 €)/kg). Prices of other citrus fruit imported from Spain were as follows: 4.00 - 4.20 PLN (0.96-1.00 €)/kg for mandarins (size 3); 4.00 PLN (0.96 €)/kg for oranges and 67 PLN (16.03 €)/15 kg for grapefruit. The price of Florida grapefruit was considerably more expensive - 95 PLN (22.73 €)/17kg.
The price of pears Conference imported from Belgium ranged from 3.60 to 3.80 PLN (0.86-0.91 €)/kg and price of pears Packham from Argentina was from 3.80 to 4.50 PLN (0.91-1.08 €)/kg. The price of the most popular imported apples - Granny Smith was from 75 PLN (17.94 €) (Uruguay - Frutsal) to 90 PLN (21.53 €) (Chile - Del Monte) per 18 kg.
