Weekly summary – fresh-market.pl price analysis (29.11-3.12.2010)-vegetables

There was severe winter conditions in Poland last week and it considerably influenced market of fresh vegetables. The supply of vegetables was lower, prices of domestic as well as imported vegetables were growing, transport was difficult what reduced export.

Price of washed carrot increased to 0.75-1.00 PLN (0.19-0.25 euro)/kg. Prices of imported carrot was similar but one can expect increase in price of carrot from next deliveries. Price of domestic onion was 0.90-1.10 PLN (0.22-0.27 euro)/kg, price of imported was up to 1.40 PLN (0.35 euro)/kg.

Prices of white cabbage grew to 0.90-1.00 PLN (0.22-0.25 euro)/kg and growers expect further increase. Due to lower export and still high supply price of Chinese cabbage remained stable – 1.60 PLN (0.40 euro)/kg.

Last week prices of tomatoes and sweet pepper imported from Spain also increased due to still insufficient supply of these vegetables in Spain. Price of BB tomatoes reached 46 PLN (11.50 euro)/6 kg and price of red sweet pepper increased to 45 PLN (11.25 euro)/5 kg. Price of imported cucumbers remained stable – 20 PLN (5.00 euro)/ 4,5 kg.
