Will the export to the eastern countries increase in the spring?

All exporters are wondering if the export to the east will increase. Every year at the end of the winter the sales of fruit and vegetables to Russia, Ukraine, Belarus and the Baltic States used to grow.

What will be the situation in the current season, which is so different than previous years? At the moment only demand of for apples and Chinese cabbage is enough stable, however one can observe some fluctuations on the biggest Russian market. As regards Chinese cabbage the supply of cabbage intended for export is decreasing in the central part of Poland. On Tuesday, 17 February in łódzkie and mazowieckie provinces the purchase price of Chinese cabbage without packaging was 1.10 PLN (0.23 euro)/kg i.e. higher than average price which was paid so far.
