Citronex builds banana ripening center in Europe

A ripening centre with the capacity of 145 thousand cartons has been built in Poland. Close to the German border Citronex has built a warehouse with the space of 10 000 square meters. At the disposal of the Polish company there are 119 state-of-the-art ripening chambers with a capacity for 145,000 cartons which have been built in cooperation with the Dutch company De Laat.  The bananas arrive at Citronex directly from Ecuador, Colombia and Mexico. Last year the import exceeded 4 million cartons. In the year 2010 Citronex expects to achieve a 15 per cent increase.
