Bad season for carrot’s producers

Prices of carrot have been stable for a few recent weeks. Only in some region of Poland one could observe a slight downward trend in its price. On Friday, April 2, the price of good quality washed carrot was 0.80 – 0.95 PLN (0.21-0.25 €)/kg. The price of poorer quality carrot was 0.65 – 0.75 PLN (0.17-0.19 €)/kg.

This season is not good for carrot’s producers. The supply is quite big, but the quality is rather poor. Good quality carrot do not reach the price above 1.10 PLN (0.28 €)/kg, while at the end of March 2009, the price of washed carrot was 1.70 PLN (0.44 €)/kg, and the beginning of April exceeded 2.00 PLN (0.52 €)/kg.
