Demand for onions on the Polish wholesale market (especially for peeling onions) is not weakening.

The only factor that can stop the upward trend is imports. And it is the one from the east, not the one from the west, because there is also a lack of onions in Europe. There is a lot of onions in Central Asia and through Ukraine they already reach Europe. At the moment, however, the stream of these imports is still too small to stop the increase in prices. However, it is worth knowing that prices are no longer rising in Ukraine.

Currently, the prices of onions in the large wholesale market in the centre of Poland are as follows:

 Łódzki region:

- Kutno area -0,30 - 0,33 EUR/kg roughly, bagged. Onions for peeling 0,26 - 0,28 EUR/kg,

- around Łódź - 0,35 - 0,37 EUR/kg for 60+ onions, bagged,

- the vicinity of Konstantynow Lodzki - onions in bulk roughly 0,28 EUR/kg. Peeled onion 0,49 - 0,51 EUR/kg,

- around Łęczyca - 0,33 -0,35 EUR/kg for a thicker, bagged one.

Wielkopolski region:

- Around Kalisz - 0,30 - 0,35 EUR/kg for a thicker bagged one,

- around Poznań - 0,35 - 0,37 EUR/kg for a thicker, bagged one,

- Near Szamotuły - onion for peeling, loose 0,28 EUR/kg,

- Nearby Koło - onion loose 0,28 - 0,30 EUR/kg.

Kujawsko-pomorskie region of Poland:

- Inowrocław area - 0,30 - 0,33 EUR/kg for thicker onions, for peeling 0,28 EUR/kg,

- around Włocławek - 0,30 - 0,33 EUR/kg bagged, depending on the thickness,

- Radziejów area - 0,30 - 0,32 EUR/kg,

- area of Kruszwica - onion loose caliber 40+ 0,27 EUR/kg, bagged 0,32 EUR/kg,

- around Brest Kujawski 0,32 EUR/kg per bagged 40/80,

- Near Chełmno bagged 0,35 EUR/kg.
