Expensive Iceberg lettuce

Currently the price of iceberg lettuce imported from Spain is 4.00 - 4.50 PLN (0.89-1.00 euro)/pcs. At the end of 2011 it was 3.00 – 3.50 PLN (0.67-0.78 euro)/pcs. Increase in prices is caused by growing producers’ prices and transport costs as well as unfavorable euro exchange rate. This significant growth in prices adversely influenced demand for Iceberg lettuce.
