Growing prices of carrot on the Polish market

The price of washed carrot has been rising since a few weeks. On Monday, 16 March the price of Polish carrot of 1st class was from 1.25 PLN/kg to 1.70 PLN/kg (0.28-0.38 euro/kg).

It is a result of big demand for carrot of good quality and lower last year's crops of this vegetable. The export of Polish carrot in the current season is considerably lower than last year. However faster rise in prices of carrot is limited by the import of carrot. On Monday, 16 March the price of Dutch carrot was 1.30 – 1.50 PLN (0.29-0.33 euro)/kg.
