Help shape the future of the UK fresh produce industry

2014-03-18 15:39
Where do you and your business fit in? How will the trade evolve and what will it take to be successful in the new environment?

These are the questions that will be addressed and answered at FPJ Live, the brand new national event from the Fresh Produce Journal. With a lineup of senior industry figures from growers and analysts to government and retailers, delegates will have an unparalleled opportunity to meet, hear from and question some of the most influential figures in the business.

The morning session kicks off with a session focused on politics and policy, with presentations from Defra food and farming minister George Eustice, Fairtrade Foundation director of commercial relations Ashish Deo and Grant Thornton’s director of agriculture, Ashley Clarkson.

The focus then switches to growers, with a session featuring NFU president Meurig Raymond, Florette MD Neil Sanderson and Dr Jon Knight, head of research at the HDC.

With concern over the next generation, a special interactive roundtable debate will discuss how to engage the managers of the future in the industry. Panellists include two successful young entrants to the trade - Total Berry Europe’s European category manager Anthony Clark and Produce World’s agronomy and planning manager for brassicas, Carolyn Coxe.

After lunch, the focus switches to retailing and consumer trends, with Iceland’s head of buying Brigid Davidson outlining what the retailer is looking for from suppliers and England Marketing revealing exclusive consumer research conducted specifically for FPJ Live.

The afternoon ends with an interactive on-stage interview with a leading industry figure, to be announced shortly, conducted by FPJ editor Michael Barker.

All of the sessions offer delegates the opportunity to put questions to the speakers and be a part of the debate.

There is still time to take advantage of the early bird delegate rate, so head over to www.fpjconferences.com and secure your place at the number-one fresh produce event of the year.

A series of attractive sponsorship packages are also available from just £1,500 - see www.fpjconferences.com for more information.
