Import of fruit

According to forecasts of IERiGŻ-PIB import of oranges in season 2008/2009 will be the biggest in the period of five last years and it will amount to 123 thousand t at value 61 million euro.

Import of bananas is expected on the level of 235 thousand t and its value 150 million euro, mandarins - 167 thousand t and 92 million euro and table grapes - 140 thousand t and 137 million euro. Together with increasing import the consumption of citrus fruit in Poland grows. In 2007 consumption of citrus fruit was 7.44 kg per capita, while in 2006 it was 6.72 kg per capita.
