Import of tomatoes has just started

Tomatoes from Holland were availabe in Poland earlier. Consumers could buy them in supermarkets and on the wholesale markets.

Now it's time to sell tomatoes from Spain. They will replace domestic ones. There is just a little volume of tomatoes from domestic glasshouses on the wholesale markets.

Since the beginning of season price of Spanish tomatoes has been remaining at the very low level - it's very good news for importers.

As a result, twig tomatoes from Holland are offered at price 18.00-20.00 PLN/5kg carton (3.60 - 4.00 PLN/kg). Spanish tomatoes are being sold at 22.00 - 23.00 PLN/ 6kg carton (3.67 - 3.83 PLN/kg).
