It seems that this season on the parsley market will be remembered for many years. What is the current situation in this vegetable trade?

We wrote about parsley on the pages of the portal www.fresh-market.pl relatively recently (see here). At that time we were wondering whether an upward price correction means that the minimum price for the current season is already behind us and will only be more expensive. The growth scenario did not seem to be completely foregone at that time, although it was probable.

What happened with wholesale parsley prices at the beginning of November significantly increases this probability. Now, sales prices of washed parsley are in a large wholesale at the level of 0,93 - 1,12 EUR/kg, on average 17 per cent higher than in the middle of last month. Prices are record-breaking and if it goes on like this, this season will be remembered for long, long years.

Prices of parsley have risen, because there are simply very few vegetables on the market. And this is only the beginning of November! What will happen next? This question is asked by producers and buyers alike, which also contributes to the rise in prices.

An additional factor that facilitates the increase in the price of parsley on the market is the fact that part of the harvest, and a significant part of it, is only suitable for processing. These are the consequences of unfavourable weather conditions during the growing season.
