Lemons - it's worth having on the bad weather )

All that remains is to limit movement, arming the body with an umbrella and strengthening the body with various specifics. Lemon is a great panacea for the effects of bad weather, the more so that supply and prices encourage.

It is a very valuable fruit and this year's season thanks to high production in Spain and Turkey - our two largest suppliers of lemons to the Polish market-  allows us to replenish stocks at very good prices.

Currently, lemons from Spain are offered by importers at very affordable prices, in the range of 11,60 - 14,00 EUR per 10 kg of carton box, i.e. from 1,16 to 1,40 EUR/kg gross. Lemons from Turkey are even cheaper. Today, buying lemons from Turkey is an expense of 8,20 – 10,50 EUR per 10 kg of carton  box (0,82 – 1,05 EUR/kg gross). In retail chains lemons can be bought in retail trade from less than 1,16 EUR per kilogram, and during the promotion period even within the limits of 0,95 EUR per kilogram.

Lemon, contrary to popular opinion, does not contain much vitamin C, in 100 grams there are only 50 to 80 milligrams. Compared to the record-breaking wild rose, which can hold up to 4 000 mg, this is really not much. Lemon also contains only small amounts of B vitamins: 0.05 mg vitamin B1, 0.04 mg B2, 0.2 mg B3, 0.11 mg B6, vitamin P, i.e. rutin and macroelements: 0.4 mg of iron and 0.1 mg of zinc.

Lemons, despite their very modest content of vitamins and microelements, however, have many health properties. They protect the body against cold thanks to participation in collagen biosynthesis - a subcutaneous protective layer protecting against virus penetration and support lymphocyte production. They help in the treatment of all pulmonary infections and eliminate subfebrile states. They have bacteriostatic and even bactericidal properties in relation to some pathogenic microorganisms.
