Low demand for leeks

Demand for domestic leeks of the new crop is low. One of the reasons is still high supply of imported leeks. Product imported e.g. from France has good appearance and quality and it is competitive to domestic leeks. Price of imported leeks is stable – 3.00-4.00 PLN (0.75-1.00 euro)/kg. Price of domestic product is 0.70-0.80 PLN (0.18-0.20 euro)/pcs. or 2.50-3.00 PLN (0.62-0.75 euro)/kg.
