Low demand for onion

When in December 2010 prices of onion were growing due to high demand it was expected that the upward trend would last in January and February. But the situation changed. The demand for onion much decreased and although the supply is not big this season prices started falling. Currently the producer price of onion is 1.05-1.30 PLN (0.27-0.33 euro)/kg. The price of imported onion is 1.40-1.60 PLN (0.36-0.41 euro)/kg. Importers are trying to sell stocks.
