Lower crops of carrots

Companies buying the carrots are signalling that the summer drought affected worse cropping of these vegetables this year. The rains in later period a little bit improved the growth of carrots but crops are lower than last year.

The Polish Central Statistical Office (GUS) assessed the crops of carrots at 800 thousand ton i.e. by 15 % less than in 2007. The average purchase price of carrots for deep-freezing (cubes) delivered to the plant is 0.10 EUR/kg i.e. by 0.03 EUR/kg more than last year. The highest price (0.13 EUR/kg) of carrots for deep-freezing is in lubelskie province.
