More apples from CA after Easter?

Many fruit growers still keep apples in cold chambers waiting for better prices. Only a few producers open chambers at the request of the recipient. Currently apples from CA reach prices by about 10 - 15% higher than prices of apples from ordinary cold stores.

For Golden Delicious producers get from 1.40 to 1.50 PLN (0.35-0.37 €)/kg, the price of Gala is from 1.30 to 1.40 PLN (0.32-0.35 €) g. Ligol from CA reaches the price of 1,10 PLN (0.27 €)/kg. However, most fruit growers are not satisfied with such prices.

According to the promises of producers most of them will start opening chambers after Easter and it will last until June. However, it is concern that with the big availability of good quality apples, traders reduce their prices knowing that producers have to sell their product.
