More expensive national potatoes

In the wholesale market, price of potatoes in Bronisze in the last week increased from 0,35-0,46 (minimum price - the maximum price) to 0,46-0,60 zł / kg while at the same time 0,16-0,10 zł / kg higher than last year.

The price increase is the result of a decrease in the country's potato harvest compared to 2011, which was estimated by the CSO at 2.9 percent. What's more, the price increases in the country is also affected by relatively high prices in foreign markets resulting from the reduction in the supplies of potatoes (less acreage and lower yields) over the last year - give analysts of Food Bank.
