Negative balance in trade of carrots

Poland which is the largest producer of carrots in EU every year buys the carrots at value exceeding value of exported carrots.

The biggest negative trade balance was in 2006, when the export earnings of the carrots amounted to 2.4 million euro and the value of the import amounted to 10 million euro. The biggest quantities of carrots (60%) are imported in the spring time from the Netherlands, Italy and Belgium.
