Plum season ends?

The season of plums has ended long ago. Till now, in offer, there were only fruits from cold stores. Such situation repeats every year but in 2013 supply of fresh fruits ended early. This is why threr is small volume of plus on the market. It is almost obvious that in December it will be impossible to purchase these fruits.

Low supply of plums isn't a result of crops but producers attitude. They say that storaging isn't profitable because in Autumn they get the same price as in plum season and the costs are higher.

Neverthless, on some wholesale markets there are producers selling plums from cold storages, mainly President variety.

Prices of plums are different. Good quality President variety costs even 4.50 PLN/kg. Price of poorer quality plums is at the level of 1.50 - 2.00 PLN/kg, sometimes even 3.00 PLN/kg.
