Production of cherries in 2011 amounted to 183 thousand tons and was higher than last year when harvest was very poor, but lower than the average production from the years 2001 - 2005 and. Cherry harvest was estimated to be about 38 thousand tons, i.e. at the level slightly lower than the previous year's harvest and also lower than the average yield in the years 2001 - 2005.
