Poland: stable prices of aubergines

In mazowieckie province the purchase prices of aubergines intended for export are stable for two weeks. Their current price is about 3 PLN (0.73 euro)/kg (minimum diameter 40 mm, packed into 10 kg cartons).

The supply of aubergines is smaller than last year, when the purchase prices were about 0.50 - 0.80 PLN (0.12-0.19 euro)/kg lower. The majority of aubergines is exported to Eastern European recipients (Ukraine and Lithuania). In 2008 the export of this vegetable amounted to 724 t; 50 % to Ukraine.
