Poland: the end of purchase of late raspberries

The purchase of raspberries of late varieties is almost finished. Production of such raspberries (Polka, Polana varieties) is growing rapidly. They are very much appreciated not only as dessert fruit, but also for freezing.

Many processing plants were waiting for these varieties, because due to their good quality, they can compete with good quality raspberries produced in Serbia - our the biggest competitor. In this season the average price of raspberries of late varieties was about 3.00 PLN (0.71 euro)/kg i.e. by 0.55 PLN (0.13 euro)/kg less than last year. The highest price (4.20 PLN (1.00 euro)/kg for such raspberries producers obtained in 2007.
