Polish market overview 7-13.11.2011

Price of carrot remained stable. The average selling price of brushed carrot was 0.48 PLN (0.11 euro)/kg and washed carrot – 0.30-0.40 PLN (0.07-0.09 euro)/kg.
Prices of Polish tomatoes increased due to decreasing supply of this product. Price of B size tomatoes grew from 18-20 PLN (4.09-4.54 euro)/6 kg to 19-22 PLN (4.32-5.00 euro)/6 kg and BB tomatoes – from 22-24 PLN (4.32-5.45 euro)/6 kg to 24-25 PLN (5.45-5.68 euro)/6 kg. The supply of imported tomatoes was quickly growing. Price of Spanish tomatoes was 25-30 PLN (5.65-6.82 euro)/6 kg.
The wholesale price of potatoes remained stable – about 0.24 PLN (0.05 euro)/kg.
The average wholesale price of cabbage slightly decreased from 0.20 (0.045 euro) to 0.19 PLN (0.043 euro)/kg. Producer price was 0.15-0.20 PLN (0.034-0.045 euro)/kg .
The average selling price of onion fell from 0.23 (0.052 euro) to 0.22 PLN (0.05 euro)/kg.
The wholesale price of bananas (Chiquita) was stable – 66 PLN (15 euro)/18 kg.
Price of apples were following: 0.70-0.75 PLN (0.16-0.17 euro)/kg for 60+/65+, 0.80-0.85 PLN (0.18-0.19 euro)/kg for 70+, 0.90-0.95 PLN (0.20-0.21 euro)/kg for 80+. Price of Idared increased to 0.85-0.90 PLN (0.19-0.20 euro)/kg for 70+. Price of Gala was 1.20-1.50 PLN (0.27-0.34 euro)/kg for 70+ and 1.00-1.20 PLN (0.23-0.27 euro)/kg for 65+. Price of Gala mutants was 1.30-1.60 PLN (0.29-0.36 euro)/kg for 70+.
Wholesale prices of citruses remained stable. Price of oranges was 42-48 PLN (9.54-10.91 euro)/9 kg, price of mandarins – 34-38 PLN (7.73-8.64 euro)/10 kg for small fruit and 42-48 PLN (9.54-10.91 euro)/10 kg for fruit of bigger sizes and better quality.
Prices of lemons imported from Turkey also remained stable – 33-38 PLN (7.50-8.64 euro)/10 kg. Price of Spanish lemons was 36-40 PLN (8.18-9.09 euro)/10 kg.
