Prices of onion remain low

Cold winter in Russia started some time ago. Despite this fact, there is a lot of onion on the market and it influences low prices. Big supply causes also low prices in Ukraine.

Onion wholesale prices in Poland fell to 0.25 PLN/kg 15 weeks ago. Currently the prices for yellow good quality onion packed in bags is 0.18 – 0.25 PLN/kg. The problem is that the supply of onion is still very high and a lot of producers have problems with selling their product. Only intended for peeling onion attracts purchasers but its price have decreased to a very low level – 00.6 – 0.8 PLN/kg. The wholesale price of peeled onion is 0.50 – 0.55 PLN/kg.
