Prices of sour cherries

The crops of sour cherries are very low this season. Harvest of dessert sour cherries so called Hungarian finished and harvest of other dessert varieties is also at the end. Although prices of sour cherries are much higher than last year export companies are still interested in purchasing dessert fruit. Producer price of dessert sour cherries with stalks is 3.50-4.00 PLN (0.86-0.98 €)/kg.

The harvest of variety Łutówka - typical variety for processing has already started. Some export companies are trying to buy these cherries as dessert fruit with stalks and they pay 3.00 PLN (0.74 €)/kg. However producers will not be more willing to provide such fruit if the price of sour cherries for processing is even 2.60 PLN (0.64 €)/kg i.e. four times more than last year.
