Purchase of sour cherries

One foresee that this year crops of sour cherries shall be high. According to the forecast the crops shall be at the level of 175 thousand tons i.e. 60% more than last year. Last year price of sour cherries for deep freezing was about 0,54 EUR/kg.

This year in małopolskie province price of sour cherries of early varieties delivered to the plant is 0,33 – 0,36 EUR/kg. The producers says that with such price they are close to the limit of profitability (price for picking is 0,21 EUR/kg) what may result in stopping the harvest of these fruits.

First prices of early dessert varieties of sour cherries were nearly 0,59 EUR/kg in małopolskie province.
