Rapid pace of growth in carrots price

Prices of carrots had remained stable at the last year’s level for a long time. Growers and traders assessed that the price of carrots was underestimated, and certainly would increase. However the rapid pace of growth during last days was not expected. Prices of increased very quickly from 0.65 PLN (0.16 euro)/kg to 1.00-1.20 PLN (0.25-0.30 euro)/kg. What is interesting; when price was lower the demand for carrot was also low. And now the demand clearly grew, especially from Russian recipients but Polish carrot is also in demand in Ukraine, Romania and Bulgaria. Further growth in prices is expected and as a result some growers stopped selling carrot waiting for higher price.
