Significant increase in tomatoes prices

Prices of tomatoes did not remain at Monday’s levels, which were 25 PLN (6.02 €)/6 kg for B size tomatoes and 27 PLN (6.51 €)/6 kg for BB size tomatoes. Next days brought huge increase in prices due to big demand, medium supply and high prices of tomatoes on foreign market. Prices of tomatoes never reached such high level at the begging of July. On Thursday, July 1 the prices of B size tomatoes were 30 PLN (7.23 €)/6 kg in the south of Poland and 32-35 PLN (7.71-8.43 €)/6 kg in central Poland and near Kalisz (big production area). The prices of BB size tomatoes were 32-34 PLN (7.71-8.19 €)/6 kg and 34-38 PLN (8.19-9.16 €)/6 kg adequately.
