Table grapes on the Polish market in 1st week of 2009

At the beginning of the year Poland imported about 4.5 thousand ton of table grapes from Italy (3 thousand t of white and 1.5 thousand t of red grapes).

On the wholesale market in Lublin price of white table grapes from Italy was 55 PLN (13.28 euro)/box 7 kg. The import of white table grapes from Greece amounted to 1.5 thousand t and red grapes - 1.2 thousand t. Recently grapes imported from RSA are more and more popular but so far the import wasn’t too big. In 1 week of 2009 Poland imported about 650 - 800 ton of table grapes from RSA. The price of white grapes from RSA was 44 - 45 PLN (10.63 – 10.87 euro)/box of 7 kg.
