Two low consumption of apples in Poland

Consumption of apples in Poland, even though quite high (about 20 kg/person), is much lower than e.g. in Germany (25-30 kg/person) or in the Netherlands (about 35 kg/person).

For reaching the healthy, rational model of consumption it is necessary to increase eating of fruit and vegetables by 40-50 %. It seems, that appropriately prepared and produced programme encouraging to consumption of domestic fruit and vegetables as well as the improvement in quality and availability of Polish fruits and vegetables will decide whether the increase of consumption can be made basing on domestic fruit and vegetables.
