Ukraine: glasshouse cucumbers more expensive

Analytics from "APK-Inform: fruits and vegetables" say increase in prices has some reasons. First of all they have risen to the level of Turkish producers prices who are main suppliers of cucumbers to the Ukrainian market.

The second reason is decreasing demand for these vegetables. Importers are planning to buy more cucumbers near Christmas.

At the end of last week prices of cucumbers from Turkey are at the level of 1.14 - 1.32 EUR/kg. Short cucumbers cost 1.41 - 1.49 EUR/kg. Last week those prices were at the level of 0.70 EUR/kg.

Domestic cucumbers are offered at 1.58 - 1.76 EUR/kg. Last week the maximum price was 1.67 EUR/kg.
