Very low prices of tomatoes

On Tuesday, August 12th one could buy domestic greenhouse tomatoes at wholesale price 0.30 EUR/kg. Even though at the moment many domestic tomatoes are available on the market, it is hard to say about huge oversupply.

So why prices are so low? There are a lot of reasons of such situation. One of more important is import of tomatoes from among others Spain, Germany or Belgium. We already wrote that imported tomatoes are cheaper than last year and additionally a very cheap euro is worsening the situation. The strong PLN causes that import goods have very attractive prices for Polish buyers.
