Weekly summary – fresh-market.pl price analyse

On the markets there are more and more domestic strawberries. One can buy wholesale volumes but quality of strawberries is not sufficient and they are not suitable for export, only for quick sale. Long lasting sunny weather has an influence on supply increase and prices decrease.

At the present price is fluctuating and depends on number of suppliers come to the local market. At the end of last week wholesale prices of 1st class strawberries were 2.37 – 2.96 EUR/chip basket. Some processing plants are going to start purchasing of strawberries at the end of this week.
Prices of most vegetables are stable, only prices of cucumbers increased what is caused by shortage of cucumbers on the market. Lack of cucumbers is caused by cold nights and cloudy days.

Prices of imported carrots of previous season are decreasing as a result of growing supply of imported and domestic early carrots. At the end of last week prices of early carrots imported from France were 0.65 – 0.68 EUR/kg.

Beetroots of previous season are ending. Luckily small quantities of early beetroots have appeared on the market.

First early domestic lettuces are already on the market. Different varieties are available: Iceberg lettuce, Lollo Bionda and Lollo Rossa. They are classified in 1st class.
