Weekly summary – fresh-market.pl price analyse (24-30.11.2008)

The recent week of November on the market of fruits and vegetables didn't differ from the rest of the month. In mazowieckie province the purchase prices of industrial apples remained fixed: 0.026 euro/kg in purchasing centers and 0.04 euro/kg in processing plants.

Traditionally in the South of Poland the prices of industrial apples were a little bit higher - to 0.05/kg. The lowest price of industrial apples was in wielkopolskie province - to 0.03 euro/kg for apples delivered to the plant. Prices of eating apples didn't change. The price of apples 70 + intended for export was from 0.186 euro/kg including the packaging. Only Golden Delicious variety was more expensive from 0.26 euro/kg. So far bigger and bigger export to the East doesn't influence the prices of apples.

The market of vegetables remained generally stable. Because of big supply the prices of Chinese cabbage stayed low - from 0.11 up to 0.16 euro/kg (without the packaging). The prices of other brassica didn't change. Because of big supply the purchase prices of Brussels sprout remained low - from 0.26 to 0.32 euro/kg. Domestic cauliflowers are already disappearing from the market. Last week prices of cauliflowers slightly increased together with the decreasing supply. At the end of the last week the average price of cauliflowers was 0.53 euro/piece including the packaging. Prices of sprouting broccoli left stable, and their average price at the end of the week was 0.46 euro/piece including the packaging.

Domestic Iceberg lettuce is also ending. On the market imported lettuce is replacing the domestic ones. The price of imported Iceberg lettuce is 13.30 euro/box of 10 pieces. The prices of greenhouse cucumbers didn't change considerably compared to the third week of November.
The prices of root vegetables were left the most stable.
