On the market of fresh fruit and vegetables the third week of November passed without big changes. The price of apples, both industrial and dessert remained low. Despite the end of harvest of apples and the low supply of industrial apples their price is still at the level of 0.14 – 0.16 PLN (0.034-0.038 euro)/kg.

Exporters of apples are still waiting for bigger export to Russian market. Until that happens the prices will not increase. Last week, the producers price was still from 0.40 PLN (0.096 euro)/kg for apples 70 +.

In central and southern parts of Poland there are still some amounts of domestic cauliflowers and broccoli. The price of broccoli is about 1.80 – 2.00 PLN (0.43-0.48 euro)/pcs. and the price of cauliflowers was about 2.00 – 2.50 PLN (0.48-0.60 euro)/pcs.

The supply of domestic greenhouse cucumbers is lower every day and last week their prices reached 7.00 PLN (1.69 euro)/kg (short cucumbers) and 5.00 PLN (1.20 euro)/kg (long cucumbers). The price of imported cucumbers was by about 2.00 PLN (0.48 euro)/kg. The supply of domestic tomatoes is also decreasing but their prices remained stable week-on-week - 10 PLN (2.41 euro)/6 kg for size A, 15 PLN (3.61 euro)/6 kg for size B and 20 PLN (4.82 euro)/6 kg for size BB. These prices concern for well coloured tomatoes. The price of tomatoes of poorer quality are much lower, even 10 PLN (2.41 euro)/carton of B tomatoes.

Last week prices of cabbages remained stable. The purchase price of Chinese cabbage is low – 0.35 – 0.40 PLN (0.084-0.096 euro)/kg. The demand for white cabbage decreased considerably what caused that the pace of its price increase was slight slower. Last week the price of white cabbage was from 0.45 to 0.65 PLN (0.11-0.16 euro)/kg.

The demand for onions decreased, also on Ukrainian market. The price 0.50 PLN (0.12 euro)/kg is too expensive for this market. In the western part of Poland prices of onions reached even to 0.70 PLN (0.17 euro)/kg but this price was too high and the demand for onion decreased. Additionally, onions imported from Germany appeared on the market what also influenced the prices.
