Rising prices of bananas

According to importers expectations tendency of increasing lasts. Till now prices rises were at the level of few percent each week (about 2.00 PLN more for carton). In a previous prices have increased more.

From last week prices of bananas rised at average of 11%/ kg what means 17% increase from the beginning of November.

Bananas imported from Ecuador, Favorita or Bonita, can be bought (depending on importer and quality) at price of 68.00 -75.00 PLN for 18 kg carton (3.78 - 4.17 PLN/kg).

Bananas from Colombia costs from 64.00 to 67.00 PLN / 18 kg/ carton (3.56 - 3.72 PLN/kg).

Taking into account last weeks purchasers need to be aware that prices will be still increasing.

In December prices may reach the level of 4.00 - 4.80 PLN/kg.
