Biedronka gets a makeover

Biedronka is the largest chain of discount supermarkets in Poland, controlling 70% discount of the market with 1,650 sales outlet, far ahead of the 750 stores from Lidl.
Biedronka will invest €1.6 billion between 2012 and 2014 to redesign its stores. The new designs have been already tested and results have been very positive and will be extended to the whole country. Jeronimo Martins said its Polish subsidiary saw its sales increase by 20% in 2011.
