Central Poland - onion prices have slowed down?

The end of November and the beginning of December were marked by a dynamic increase in prices of onions in the Polish wholesale market. Also in the centre of the country. However, in recent days the situation has changed slightly.

Last week brought a certain slowdown in the growth of onion prices. First of all, it was visible on the fresh market. Here, the rapid rise from the previous period again had a negative impact on demand. "Again", because such a tendency has been visible for some time now. So far, however, the demand for peeled onions has been so high that it has pushed prices upwards on the fresh market as well.

Now the price level on the fresh onion market is so high that the upward trend has been halted and even downward corrections have been made. The only question is how long it is possible to halt the rise in onion prices in the conditions of a large supply deficit. Producers do not let go and try to raise prices all the time. And it seems that the break in the upward trend will not be long.

Currently, the prices of onions in the large wholesale market are as follows in the central Poland:

 Łódzki region:

- Kutno area -0,33 - 0,35 EUR/kg thicker,  bagged one. Onions for peeling 0,29 EUR/kg,

- around Łódź - 0,35 - 0,42 EUR/kg for 60+ onions, bagged,

- Konstantynow Lodzki surroundings - onions in bulk 0,29 - 0,32 EUR/kg. Peeled onion 0,49 - 0,52 EUR/kg,

- around Łęczyca - 0,33 - 0,35 EUR/kg for a thicker, bagged one.

Wielkopolski region:

- Around Kalisz - 0,35 - 0,37/kg for thicker sacked onions, onions for peeling- 0,31 EUR/kg,

- Poznań area - 0,37 - 0,42 EUR/kg for a thicker, bagged one,

- Near Szamotuły - onion for peeling, loose 0,28 - 0,30 EUR/kg,

- Nearby Koło - onion loose 0,28 - 0,29 EUR/kg.

Kujawsko-pomorskie:

- Inowrocław area - 0,35 - 0,37 EUR/kg for thicker, for peeling 0,28 EUR/kg,
