Greek exports affected by situation in Ukraine

Ousoutzoglou said that "special attention must be paid to promptly address these difficulties, after providing specific evidence of how significantly the export business is being affected. He also stressed how Greek products in Russia are being affected by the devaluation of the Russian currency, the Rouble (-22 %) and of Ukraine's Hryvnia (-30 %) against the Euro.

It notes that "problems will only worsen with the start of the summer stonefruit exports (peaches, nectarines, etc.), as Ukraine and Russia absorb around 40-45% of the export volumes."

The president of the Chamber of Imathias believes that "Greece should find an alternative route for Greek exports to enter Russia while ensuring the security of the exported cargo."
