Import of greenhouse cucumbers is growing

This week prices of greenhouse cucumbers again increased. On Thursday, 6th November the average price of short cucumbers was 1.68 euro/kg and price of long cucumbers was 1,26 euro/kg.

This growth is a result of decreasing supply of domestic cucumbers. Such situation cause the increase of import of greenhouse cucumbers what in consequence has stabilizing effect on prices. Generally in Poland the demand for greenhouse cucumbers has been increasing from few years and growing demand is supplied largely by the growing import.
